For the video work Travelers, Sabine Schründer draws on her father’s estate. She transforms small, colorful objects from his fishing collection, more or less marked by use, into life-size, figurative images with the character of portraits. In the projection, some move around their own axis in a contemplative manner. Others fail in their efforts. What drives, stops or hinders them remains invisible. Exaggerated in Pop Art style, the poses can be read as metaphors for states of mind. Just as travelers never stay in one place for long, the motto for many a circumstance could be: Keep going, keep going.
